Planning a trip as a parent is not a task everyone looks forward to, at least not when it involves a toddler or a baby. Parents look forward to a break from reality but the tiring pre- trip planning and packing can sometimes dim even the most excited.
A winter vacation involves lots more clothes and padding and if you are carrying a toddler with you that means your suitcase will probably be filled with their clothes. Whether it is your first time taking them on a winter vacation or stressed out about the prospects of planning one, here are a couple items that might help you get your packing list started and hopefully reduce the packing dilemma you would be forced to go through.
The correct footwear
Treading through snow can be difficult for adults so put your feet into a toddlers and shoes and just think of how much trickier this might be for them. Depending on where you are headed the right footwear can leave you with just a tired toddler or a tired toddler in pain. Ideally the selected footwear should be waterproof and padded at least up to the ankle.
This keeps out the cold and ensures your child’s feet are safely away from getting cold. Make sure to buy one size lager as these socks can make the shoe feel tighter. Having a bit more space allows the socks to fit seamlessly into the shoes making it so much more comfortable. Ensure there is sufficient padding and plenty of socks to avoid shoe cuts.
Outdoor activities
A lot of outdoor activities involve skiing, snowboarding or skating so having the right equipment will make your life that much easier. Instead of having to lug heavy clothes and equipment try packing layers that are easy to carry and do not take up too much space. Do not restrict your child into having these experiences at the risk of their safety, instead pack well and ensure that they use the necessary equipment for all these activities so they are able to enjoy the most of their holiday too.
Aside from skiing, while on holiday there is a good chance you will be exploring the place you are in. Therefore, carrying your toddler can become quite uncomfortable for you and them after many hours. This is where a functional pram liner can come in handy. They provide extra lining and warmth to the pram making it a functional form of travel that is comfortable for you and your child.
A sequence of outfits
There are several fashionable, warm garments that are made to keep out the cold and keep in cuteness, so just because its winter doesn’t mean your toddler can’t be dressed up. The majority of these outfits incorporate layering items like scarves, knit coats, and stockings. Pack a variety of washable, shuffled garments to prevent overpacking your suitcase.
